Is CPU_OPT intended to be used for a second CPU fan and would this mean both fans are controlled separately?. I haven't used the fan header yet I wonder if that's the issue. 12 Jul 05 Posts. So you really should move the fan connector from the CPU fan to the CPU_FAN header, and not keep it on the CPU_OPT header. Unfortunately, this reason is probably why you cannot control your pump speeds.

Hello, Iv been working on my build and added some extra fans trying to achieve positive air pressure. The CPU cooler comes with a Y-splitter to plug the two fans into the CPU_FAN header, but I see there is also a CPU_OPT header right beside it. However, I do have a CPU_OPT header next to the CPU_FAN header which I could use.

On gigabytes website they say that the cpu opt is for water coolers though :S. I was led to believe it went into the "CPU_OPT" header by another website. The splitter cable you install to the 2 fans and use the CPU_OPT header (it allows boths fans to spin at the same RPM).

The pump on the H115i is powered by SATA Power connector, it powers the 2 140mm fans and only has a ground cable that comes off to connect to the AIO/CPU header, the pump/fan speeds are controlled/setup via the USB plug on the pump.
